Mespara Central Rabha Society Convention Concludes Successfully
Introduction
The 49th annual convention of the Mespara Central Rabha Society, marking the pre-Golden Jubilee celebration, concluded successfully with a day-long event. The convention was held at Satabari Kali Mandir Kamaha Field under the Dodan Gaon Panchayat in the Lakhipur Development Block of Goalpara district.
Flag Hoisting Ceremony
As part of the scheduled program, the President of the Mespara Central Rabha Society, Naren Rabha Hakacham, hoisted the central committee's flag. Simultaneously, the presidents of 14 affiliated Jamad committees hoisted their respective society flags.
In his speech, President Naren Rabha Hakacham emphasized the need for preserving and promoting the Rabha community's language, literature, culture, and socio-economic development. He also urged the government to take immediate steps to include Rabha Hasong in the Sixth Schedule of the Indian Constitution to safeguard and uplift all communities residing in the region.
Open Representative Meeting
The open representative meeting was presided over by Naren Rabha Hakacham and inaugurated by former President of the Mespara Central Rabha Society, Sitaram Rabha.
During the meeting, reports from various sub-committees, including the Education Trust and 14 Jamad societies under the Mespara Central Rabha Society, were presented.
Formation of Souvenir Editorial Committee
A key highlight of the convention was the formation of a seven-member editorial committee to compile a commemorative souvenir for the upcoming Golden Jubilee convention, set to be held next year at Dodan Jamad. The editorial committee will be led by renowned writer Shiraprasad Rabha Haduk as President and Swarna Bartung as Secretary.
