ASSAMSAT: Assam's Leap to Space
Assam is taking a giant leap into space technology with the launch of ASSAMSAT, its own satellite. This initiative aims to ensure reliable data, smarter decision-making, and stronger communities. By leveraging space technology, Assam is set to revolutionize various sectors, including agriculture, disaster management, and urban planning.

Major Announcements for a Resurgent Assam
Inclusive Land Governance
Assam is empowering communities and securing land rights through Mission Basundhara 3.0. With over 6,00,000 applications received for conclusive land titles, the state is committed to expedited land allocation and the establishment of Land Governance Labs for seamless integration with blockchain-based land records.
Protection of Indigenous Rights
Assam is identifying and notifying 846 villages with a predominant SC/ST population as micro tribal belts and blocks. Additionally, the honorarium for Gaon Pradhans has been increased from ₹9,000 to ₹14,000 per month, effective from October 2025.
Building Stronger Ties: The B3 Economic Corridor
The Bhutan-Bodoland-Bay of Bengal (B3) Economic Corridor is set to enhance trade, growth, and infrastructure development. This corridor will boost logistics connectivity between Bharat and Bhutan, with a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Jogighopa as a key priority.
Fund Allocation (2025-26)
- ₹1143 crore to the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC)
- ₹621 crore to the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC)
- ₹306 crore to the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC)
Driving Industrial Growth & Skill Development
Assam is launching a ₹2,000 Crore Industrial Momentum Fund to boost industrial progress. The state is also establishing the High Powered Industrial Growth & Investment Board and upgrading schools into STEM Vocational Centres through a TATA-NELCO partnership.
Skilling Assam's Youth
With a budget allocation of ₹50 Crore, Assam Skill University will start operating from its permanent campus this year. The state is also signing MOUs with global companies for structured training programs in AI, Robotics, and more.
Celebrating Heritage & Cultural Pride
Assam is preserving its rich cultural heritage with initiatives like mass recitation of "O Mur Apunar Desh" and showcasing Bagurumba & Bordoisikhla folk dances on national and international platforms. The state is also setting up Government OTT platforms to preserve Assamese cinema, literature, and music.
Boosting Dairy Growth in Assam
Assam is boosting its dairy sector with the establishment of three new milk processing plants in Jorhat, Dhemaji, and Dibrugarh. The state aims to produce 10 lakh litres of milk per day and provide a ₹5 subsidy per litre for dairy farmers in registered Dairy Co-operative Societies (DCS).
Boosting Assam's Self-Sufficiency
Egg Production
With an allocation of ₹24 crore, Assam is promoting self-sufficiency in egg production and commercializing the poultry sector.
Pork Production
Assam is allocating ₹11 crore to import Canadian breed pigs for genetic improvement and launching the Pure-line Pig Breeding Programme.
Veterinary Healthcare
The state is establishing Pet Care Hospitals in Guwahati, Bokakhat, and Dibrugarh, along with Multi-Care Veterinary Hospitals in five districts.
